Be fiercely kind
I once lived with a woman who always wore this old jumper that read “Kindness is my religion.”
It was her uniform... soft, worn, a bit threadbare, but full of heart.
During a tense patch between us, I noticed she stopped wearing it. When we finally cleared the air, it magically reappeared.
I had to laugh.
It reminded me that kindness isn’t necessarily a fixed trait... it’s a choice we have to keep making. We all slip. We all have moments where we’re tired, triggered, pissed off or not our best selves. What matters is that we keep coming back to it.
Again and again.
Like putting the jumper back on.
Kindness isn’t weakness... it’s cosmic power, baby.
Put real effort into being gracious, especially when it’s hard. Especially when you feel triggered. Choose softness in the moments when it’s least expected. Let your compassion interrupt old patterns and cycles of harm.
Make kindness your daily practice. Your quiet rebellion. Your self invented religion.
Because kindness ripples outward. And honestly? It just feels so good to live in that frequency.
Kindness Is a Kind of Magic
Kindness can shift the atmosphere in an instant... like lighting a candle in the middle of a blackout.
It soothes the person receiving it, but it does something beautiful for the person giving it too. It softens us. It opens the heart. It reminds us that we don’t always have to have the sharpest comeback or win the argument.
In a world that can reward sharp elbows and quick words, kindness can feel like a radical act.
It can soften chaos. Make someone pause. Open up a little more space for everyone to breathe.
And when you embody it, you become memorable.
People might forget exactly what you said... but they’ll never forget how you made them feel.
Did You Know?
Kindness can create a beautiful ripple effect in the body too... supporting feelings of connection and wellbeing, helping to reduce stress and even benefiting our physical health.
And the gorgeous thing?
Simply witnessing an act of kindness can have an effect on us too.
Love really does ripple.
The Invitation
This week, notice one moment when you feel irritated, unseen or tempted to shut down.
Then choose kindness... on purpose.
A pause.
A smile.
A generous assumption.
A soft word.
Give someone the benefit of the doubt.
Take the higher road... humbly.
And then, at the end of the day, ask yourself:
What shifted when I led with love instead of ego?
Who did I become in that moment of grace?
Let fierce kindness be your quiet revolution.
Go on... you can do it.
Bit by bit.
Moment by moment.
Choice by choice.
Just keep putting the jumper back on.
Affirmation
“I choose kindness as my strength. With every gentle act, I create ripples of love that transform my world, those around me and help heal the collective heart.”
